Sustainability and ethics are important considerations for any shopper. But what does it mean to shop sustainably and ethically?
Shopping sustainably means considering the environmental impact of the products you buy. For example, choose products made from sustainable materials, or that have been handcrafted using traditional methods.
Shopping ethically means supporting businesses that treat their workers fairly and with respect. Consider buying fair trade products, which guarantee that the workers who produced them were paid a fair wage and treated well. Avoid products made in sweatshops or by child labor. Instead, choose brands like Karmina that are transparent about their supply chains and have humane working conditions.
So…Why shop with us?
ALL ITEMS ARE HANDMADE
All of the clothing is made by me and my seamstress in a small workshop in Branik. We put a lot of time and effort into creating each piece. You’ll find a wide variety of styles and designs to choose from, so you’re sure to find something that’s perfect for you. And because each item is
handmade, you can be confident that you’re getting quality clothing that will last for years to come. Consider that every cm of the fabric that forms a garment once flowed through my fingers with intention and purpose and that no two handmade items are exactly alike, so that every single one is one-of-a-kind. So take a look through our handmade section today and find that special piece of clothing that’s just right for you.
CAPSULE WARDROBE ESSENTIALS
Building a capsule wardrobe is a great way to save money and space in your closet. It also forces you to be more creative with your Clothing choices. When you have a small number of clothes to work with, you learn to mix and match items in new ways to create different looks. We design our line as a system – simple, rounded shapes as a capsule that will work together year after year. Versatile pieces that can be mixed and matched. You can shop individual pieces or buy entire look. We help you build your capsule wardrobe. Getting dressed has never been so easy.
RESPONSIBLE FASHION
Every item is made to order. We cut and produce locally. This way the pieces we make are unique and minimal waste. To reduce waste, the majority of our items are not made until ordered by you. We believe that every piece of clothing should be made with love and care, and that includes ensuring that the people who make our clothes are paid fairly and treated well. No matter how you choose to be a responsible fashionista, remember that every little bit counts. By making even small changes in the way you shop for clothes, you can help make a big difference in the world.
WASTE – NOT WASTED
Nothing goes to waste at our house! We turn every last scrap into a gift, including these little treasures made from leftovers. We turn our scrap fabrics into headbands, scrunchies and keychains. There are lots of small changes like these we can make – and we’ll continue to embrace them. We do what we can to make our planet a better place!
FABRIC
We primarily use ramie, viscose, linen, seersucker, cotton with elasthan, bamboo jersey and also upcycled/deadstock fabric (leftover fabric that we save from the landfill and give a new life). We mostly get our fabric from local fabric shop Liupka and Europrint.
